Most of all - we need to all recognize that 1 year from November we have to be on the same team.

Yep, altho if Rudy or McCain is the GOP choice I may as well sit out the Pres election. There is no difference between Rudy and Hillary or Obama.

Fear not, we shall, my experience has taught me that during the primaries most people feign principles with the usual "if candidate A gets the nomination, I'll stay home".
But fortunately, the VPs are generally not picked until the convention and this leads to the canned excuse "I wasn't going to vote for him/her but because he picked so-and-so as his running mate, I've changed my mind".
In the end it all works out.
