Joe Spellman, US Navy Master Chief (ret) enjoys a cup of coffee on his porch on a quiet Saturday afternoon at his home in San Antonio. Spellman, who spent from 1970 to 1972 in Vietnam, both in country and off shore on a destroyer, still feels the pain of a country that turned its back on him and his fellow veterans so long ago. It is the same disdain and disgust shown to those heroes over thirty years ago that Spellman hopes never will be shown again to another soldier, sailor, airman or Marine.
