President George W. Bush addresses the press during a meeting about medicare in the Roosevelt Room April 23, 2007. "It took a monumental effort by a lot of citizens around the country to make the options that our seniors were given easy to understand," said President Bush. "In other words, we reformed Medicare and gave seniors a lot of choices, and it took a lot of loving Americans a lot of time to make these choices available for our senior citizens. Now that the plan is in place, 39 million have signed up for it, drug costs are less than anticipated, and the cost to the taxpayer is about $200 billion less than anticipated." Laura and I are deeply saddened by the death of former Russian President Boris Yeltsin. President Yeltsin was an historic figure who served his country during a time of momentous change. He played a key role as the Soviet Union dissolved, helped lay the foundations of freedom in Russia, and became the first democratically elected leader in that country's history. I appreciate the efforts that President Yeltsin made to build a strong relationship between Russia and the United States. We offer our sincerest condolences to the Yeltsin family and to the Russian people.
Thanks for all the great info you provide night after night after night.
Your sacrifice of time and effort does not go unnoticed.
I think our Dose is the only SANITY on the whole of FR.
Thank GOD for the Dose~! This island of sanity is a real relief.
I LOVE the W and Colts pics ... what a fine looking group, and I'm so happy for Tony Dungy ... what a fine Christian and role model he is.
Continuing prayers for W .. only with his faith could he carry on in the face of such constant attack. I thank God for his fortitude and consistency, and pray for his health. How many much much lesser men would have withered and weakened long ago?
Check the hands .... WOW~~!! ... LOL
That is one of the most poignant stories I have read in a LONG time! They are both true HEROES!
But half the population is clueless.
It's hard to know how to fight it, other than standing strong for our President no matter WHO attacks us for it.
I will never forget how much rintense sacrificed of her time and talent to keep it running for years, ALL BY HERSELF!
What a legacy on this forum she has!
LOVED how you told the "GIRLS" that you couldn't spare a square for them, KARL! GOOD FOR YOU!!!
Thanks for the special links. The Purple Heart from a fellow Texan is really terrific. No wonder President Bush wanted to meet the donor and his wife.
Only through the strength of the Lord, good genes and a whole lotta character can he do it.
I remember some folks calling him the Energizer bunny for a while. They had a point.
But maybe Timex would be a good parallel too............or is that going back too far for most? LOL!
“This picture is worth a thousand words, Deb!”

Yes it is . . . and thank you for posting in for me!!!
[BTW: Sounds as though you were out among the FR unappeasables today . . . Fortunately, I missed these threads!]
(psst. My brother was 101st Airborne Ranger, so it put an even BIGGER smile on my face to read the story! What a class act - what a couple - what a national hero!)
You’re welcome . . . Since you are also from Texas, perhaps you could ‘drop a line’ to Mr. Thomas . . . He indicated in the first article that he had gotten some grief for his inspired effort (probably only a few letters from the loving leftists among us)!! . . . A note from you would mean a lot!
NordP
All I have to say is, thank heavens for the Dose!
Off to talk to Mom....be back maybe - if not, NITE ALL!
Which thread were you on?
You and the rest of the regulars (sorry if I have forgotten a few) have been even more valuable in your willingness to dedicate your time to the Dose. We shall all have something special to look back on in a few years.
Thank you for your comments AND the beautiful photo of San Diego!
Agree, ohio, this thread IS a life saver. Sometimes I ‘rant’ but I feel this is the only place people ‘understand’. It’s hard to understand why many more Americans are not paying attention to the internal threats to our country. I pray for our good President and I pray for the future of our country.
Hi, all....Thanks, onyx......love the pics - the President getting some “fun” time is GOOD!
gawd .. I actually remember John Cameron Swayze .. LOL
