We first saw negative effects of our global market meddling when 75,000 starving Mexicans began rioting...

Now government subsidies for alternative fuels have caused a sobering increase in the cost of beer in Germany due to the unnatural shrinkage of barley production...

The latest Stanford study, ignored by the mass media, proves the prevalence of increased pollution from ethanol...

Alternative Fuel Subsidies Cause Sober Germans, Starving Mexicans

What's the down side?

We first saw negative effects of our global market meddling when 75,000 starving Mexicans began rioting...

If you have the energy to riot, then you ain't starving.

I saw a Mexican eating a Bratwurst once. Don’t know if that helps.

We are burning our food.
I wonder if AlGore is buying corn and soy futures now that his self-created shortages have raised the prices.

Al Gore will not come out in favor of anything that President Bush is in favor of. Right now he is burning through some serious carbon credits trying to remove his support for anything but ethanol from...whatever the President has not talked about yet.

Wow Ethanol is such a poor choice for a motor fuel. Biodiesel is the right choice.

Why is it not garbage? A tortilla problem that isn’t a problem? A beer problem that isn’t a problem? A study that didn’t come to the conclusions the ‘author’ of this piece presents?

Are you just too slow to understand the fact of basic economics? The price rise of the base material inflates the prices of the most common goods. For what, a feel good technology that really isn’t cost efficient.

It’s a matter of time before the investments figure out which ones will have long-term credibility. Algae’s the only biomass I look at as ‘with potential’.

Are you slow to recognize crap when you see it? This isn’t even good enough to make it on CBS.
