Aging moonbats tapped to ‘advise’ governor
Boston Herald ^ | 4/22/07 | Howie Carr

All you need to know about Gov. Deval Patrick’s new team of advisers is that he has raided the John Kerry-Mike Dukakis braintrust - how’s that for an oxymoron?

They are described as “seasoned.” That means over the hill.

Most of them come from the same wing of the Democratic Party - the former wing. Former AG, former bank president, former newspaper publisher. I won’t say the synonym for “former” is unemployed, but most of these thumbsuckers are at the checkout counter. They’re rounding third.

This new team of Deval advisers held their first meeting in a downtown office building. Apparently Marian Manor (rest home) was booked.

Now this over-the-hill gang is going to instruct Deval in how to market his agenda, whatever that is. Last week Deval’s agenda consisted of changing the lightbulbs at the State House. Insert your own joke here about how many moonbats does it take to change a lightbulb on Beacon Hill.

After the arduous lightbulb photo op, Deval’s low-grade case of Potomac fever suddenly recurred and he flew off to D.C. for treatment.

Meanwhile, back in the city, foreclosures on homes are way up, especially in the black neighborhoods. And a disproportionate number of the bad loans were written by the company that Deval continued to lobby for after his inauguration - Ameriquest.

But please, no questions for the governor about the foreclosure boom by the predatory lender that paid him hundreds of thousands of dollars - that is definitely not on his agenda. Together we can . . . ignore Ameriquest.

The meetings will be presided over by Doug Rubin, Deval’s second chief of staff, having succeeded a woman with a hyphenated last name. Rubin used to work for Treasurer Tim Cahill, who, like the Beatles in 1967, is currently on a pilgrimage to India. Instead of Potomac fever, Cahill has apparently contracted Ganges fever.

Another dogtrack-ready team member: Luther S. Harshbarger, the former attorney general whose career took a turn for the worse when he began indicting the pictures hanging on his office wall. Poor Eddie McCormack.

Then there’s Liz Morningstar, from the Amy Gorin faction. This moonbat was last seen on TV defending the decision to include very personal information about voters - including victims of domestic violence - on Deval’s Web site. Moments after her eloquent defense, the addresses and phone numbers were removed.

Another worthy on the team is Mike Kineavy, Mumbles Menino’s man. He’s fresh off a big win in the battle to fill the South Boston seat on the City Council with yet another rubber stamp for the mayor. Kineavy’s payroll patriots eked out a victory for Landslide Linehan, whose entire margin over Eddie Flynn came from the Chinatown precinct, 3-8.

In a seven-person fight, Landslide Linehan gets 52 percent of the vote in 3-8 and is now well on his way to becoming the next Rob Consalvo, a Mini-Me for Mini-Me.

Another of the usual suspects is Jon Jennings, from John Kerry’s Boston office, a revolving door if ever there was one. Prior to assuming the Augie Grace chair, he worked for the Celtics [team stats], who had almost as bad a season as Deval.

I could go on, but you get the picture. These guys will work, not for food, but to get their names in the paper. It’s the political version of Craigslist - Situation Wanted.

This AARP of politics is supposed to operate like Mike Dukakis’ kitchen cabinet in 1983. Isn’t that wonderful? Remember the later Dukakis years - every week a new indictment, either of a Dukakis-appointed sheriff or a state college president. New taxes, bankruptcy rumblings, terrible judicial appointments, Whitey Bulger’s cocaine dealers on every payroll in the state.

Somebody bring in more lightbulbs!

Howie Carr column ping.

also, from radio-info.com

VARULVEN (nice guy whom I’ve met but definitely on the left):
>>Why would one put re-runs of Howie Carr on a Saturday night AFTER a Red Sox game? Howie, who can’t do a compelling show live sounds like 12 day old milk left in the hot sun after the fact, sour and useless.
Perhaps Jason is forcing the sports fans BACK to WEEI by not having live and local on weekends.
WRKO just doesn’t care, it doesn’t exist. All Red Sox All The Time is the only way it will survive.
The Red Sox are now to WRKO what Howard Stern was to WBCN
my two least favorite stations showing why they are so awful

newsbot:
>>And yet, you CAN’T STOP LISTENING. Those who can, broadcast; those who can’t, have the free time to post on Radio-Info 2,455 times.

Neggy:
>>Economics? It’s cheaper to pay the board op to play Carr than to pay a host and producer to sit there playing Fish until the game is over.
If you are listening to WRKO on a saturday night you need to get a life!

Infidel:
>>That’s better than WCRN’s offering after the game.

raccoonradio (yup, me):
>>The same thing was happening last week...I thought they were supposed to carry best of Jeff, er, Glenn
Beck. Actually in some ways it was a service as a lot of Howie’s show got pre-empted by the Sox
home opener on 4/10 (but WRKO re-aired it on Sat 4/14)...for example, Howie was talking about the Imus
situation and then interviewed Col. Hunt (an interview later replayed on C-SPAN) but folks in Boston,
the Cape, and Worcester were unable to hear those when they first happened due to the Sox opener.
“We’re off in Boston for the first two hours today but you can hear us online.” Yeah, but I can’t
hear it in my car (neither could many other people)
“The Carr that drives Boston home—Except For When The Sox Pre-Empt Him” (fortunately the only
pre-emptions for Howie now will be that last half hour, as weekday aft games are on WEEI)

I know nothing about the utterly corrupt politics in Massachusetts, but I love reading Howie Carr expose these democrat party sociopaths.

ha—I heard some “progressives” are urging a boycott of Stop and Shop because that “bigot, racist” Howie Carr was doing a book signing there.

Is there something I'm missing here about Linehan and Chinatown? Is Chinatown voting more corrupt than the rest of Boston?

Granted the special election didn't get much coverage. Even I had forgotten about it. But I went to church (as usual), and the polling place opens at 7:00 a.m. right across the street. Oops! Have to vote! ;-) I've already forgotten when the run-off is. I'll just have to be sure to go church -- and vote for whoever's up against Linehan!
