It is up to you to make your point clear. Quintilian framed the rule centuries ago: Do not write so that you can be understood, but so that you cannot be misunderstood. When you complain that others do not understand you correctly, you are only confessing that your point is muddled or that you write badly.

Aldous Huxley had a more detailed fantasy along these lines in Brave New World about 75 years ago.

When I say “I want to end abortion as it is today and see to it that no more death occurs for the unborn” , and then someone says I am for “infantcide”.....There is not a misunderstanding in my writing.....there is a lack of comprehension by the reader..... Or direct and intentional misleading occuring because someone doesn’t like what I write.
