Fine, if he is the nominee, which is debateable at this point, I don't care what you do, just don't vote for him then and gripe about it in some vanity on the Wednesday morning after the election one way or the other.
I’ll reserve and preserve my right to fight against any abortionist gun grabbing liberal that gets elected to the White House from either party. Thank you very much.
the problem is going to come, when Thompson is fully vetted on the abortion and gay issue. President Thompson isn’t going to be able to do a thing about gay civil unions in the states, and when he is forced to give full and complete answers (as opposed to the “hot button” answer “I’m against gay marriage”) on the topic, it will become clear. On abortion, Thompson is pro-life. OK, so let’s say Roe goes (on constitutional grounds) in a Thompson presidency - what’s the pro-life movement going to do when no more then 2 states vote to outlaw abortion for adult women in the first trimester? Is Thompson for a constitutional amendment banning all abortion, which is the next logical, legal, conservative step in the pro-life advance? I doubt he will take that position.
