“Any and every person who signs on and supports Giuliani is, if not endorsing, condoning his murderous views on the sanctity of human life.
There is no escaping that fact.”
Yes there is. You just have to try and think a little bit.
If my choice for President is between TWO pro-choice candidates (Rudy and Hillary), and sitting out the election would simply hand it over to Her Highness, IT DOESN’T MATTER what I, personally, think of abortion (which, by the way, I’m completely against), because there’s NO ONE in there representing my viewpoint, and I’m going to get screwed on that issue NO MATTER WHAT.
Now, follow this - you might not agree, but follow this...
Given the above, I DO think Rudy’s shown leadership ability, I respect his forthrightness, and I’ve heard him say he’ll nominate strict constructionist judges. In comparison, there isn’t ANYTHING about Her Highness I respect. I think she’s an evil, scheming Socialist (not to mention screeching) RAT, and it would be hellish to have her — not to mention Bill — back in Washington again.
Therefore, in an election between the two, I would support Giuilani in a HEARTBEAT - but, in doing so, I am NOT endorsing “or condoning his murderous views on the santity of human life.” — I am merely putting up with them, because in the event he’s the candidate, I’d have no choice.
If two wives can't trust him, why the hell should we?
We've been down this road in the 90's -- the guy who could'nt be trusted with any oath - marriage, ROTC commitment, or office -- remember him?
Just because another creature like that has an "R" after his name does not make it any more worthy of trust than the Bent One was. Or its pants suit wearing woman in drag of a husband. Another New York Lawyer.
In that scenario, my cat gets my vote. And I mena my DUMB cat.
While I am vehemently opposed to Rudy as the Republican nominee, the question of what we should do if it's Rudy vs. Hillary/Obama/Edwards in November is another animal altogether ... and I think reasonable conservatives could disagree on that issue.
As a poster put it in another thread (wish I could remember who) ... if Rudy is the Republican nominee, we have already lost the election. The November election then becomes a matter of damage control.
