Depends on what you’re trying to conserve. As you know, America was settled by Believers. the Declaration of Independence proclaims that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, including the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Ie, our rights originate with God, are not handed out or controlled by man or government nor can they be taken away by man or government. America is founded on a belief in God and our system of government is based on God’s laws and our traditional American society is and has been God-centered. At least it is and has been until the atheist UnAmerican ACLU got involved about 50 or 60 years ago and started trying to destroy religious freedom in America.
I think an atheist conservative would be an incomplete conservative and he’d be standing on at least one liberal leaning leg.

Do you think its possible to be a conservative and an atheist?Nat Hentoff is not a conservative.
However, his pro-life essays converted me to a pro-life mindset.
Wisdom is where you find it.
And wisdom is sorely lacking in the Rudy Guiliani campaign. Heck, Rudy is shilling his wife as some kind of bioterror expert because she was in pharma sales for a few years.
