I don’t mind if I get in trouble, I have to stand up for my beliefs, which I consider to be conservative, but not necessarily congruent with all defintions of conservatism. I’ll note that social conservatism is not necessarily allied with individual freedom and limited government, which are the conservative beliefs that I hold dear.
As for the religious side of things, in a free country, folk ought to be free to practice or not the religion of their choice. A free country will require adherence to a code of conduct which may or may not coincide with a given religious code.
I’ll be happy for FR to prominently post the fact that it is a social conservative site, along with a description of social conservatism.
Seems to me that "conservate, buts" have been a big part of the problem around here, and in our politics. But, that 's just me...
