JimRob is making this place more hospitable to social conservatives That's fine. I don't, however, recall him calling in the Taliban to cleanse the place of everyone not wearing the burka or the beard. In 15062 we have a messianic ayatollah claiming that he and his band of snarling yahoos are speaking for God as they crash through the place threatening 8- and 9-year Freepers with bannings and bug zappers. They say a fanatic is a man who does what God would do if God had all the facts. When little ayatollahs start thinking they speak for God, it's time to rein them in. |
JimRob is making this place more hospitable to social conservatives ... That’s fine.
***Then you should be fine with how he chooses to do so.
I don’t, however, recall him calling in the Taliban to cleanse the place of everyone not wearing the burka or the beard.
***Interesting analogy, but it’s highly emotive and baiting. JimRob’s doing it with the tools, methods and people he has at hand. You don’t like it, take it up with Jim. You’re responding to a post where I asked people to go back through the old rudy threads. Have you? It might help you to see why such “taliban” tactics are necessary.
In 15062 we have a messianic ayatollah claiming that he and his band of snarling yahoos are speaking for God as they crash through the place threatening 8- and 9-year Freepers with bannings and bug zappers.
***15062 is just a simple picture with a door and a light, I don’t know how you can read so much into it. If you don’t like what’s going on, stay off the thread and let it die as it should.
They say a fanatic is a man who does what God would do if God had all the facts. When little ayatollahs start thinking they speak for God, it’s time to rein them in.
***You lost me on your connection with post 15062 and little ayatollahs. I don’t find myself in agreement with your conclusion. If anyone can read the core values statement of free republic and find themselves in disagreement with it, then it’s better for them if they leave or keep quiet rather than try to separate socons from their values.
