If the party nominates a candidate that alienates and drives away a significant portion of the base, that’s the fault of the party and the candidate, not the people who choose to vote their conscience.

Exactly! Send your money directly to your candidate. Do NOT send money to the Republican National Committee!

The membership of the Republican Party is currently so thoroughly divided, that there is no such thing as a candidate who won’t alienate and drive away one or the other significant portion of its base.
