“”Then again, thatll just lead to more obsessing too soon.””
Actually I’m on a vacation from passionate politics, that is why this thread helps me so much.
I don’t have a candidate yet, but at least now I have one to be against, and that pulls me back in a little bit.
I agree, get some sleep. Hey, why don’t you just lock up the thread for the night, and open it in the morning? I think we could all use a break.
Freepmail for ya....
My delphiniums are starting to bloom...that’s one of my good news thingies for today!
“Neither for him and it would take a good deal of luck for fatso to become the Dem nominee. He would have to overtake Hillary, HUSSEIN Obama, Edwards and maybe Al Gore.”
The constant presumption of poll front runners 9 or 10 months out from the primaries equals the actual nominee is laughable. This is the poll from much later in the primary season last time around - note how far down John Kerry is:
CHOICE FOR DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE Dec. 17, 2003
Howard Dean 23%
Wesley Clark 10%
Joe Lieberman 10%
Richard Gephardt 6%
Al Sharpton 5%
John Kerry 4%
John Edwards 2%
Carol Moseley-Braun 1%
Dennis Kucinich 1%
TN has dem governor. They also have Dem state legislators that introduce PRO gun bills!
Imagine NRA endorsed bill richardson running against gun grabbing rudy giuliani. Do you think rudy is going to win that matchup?
A lot of rudy supporters want him to be the maginot line against hillary, and they don’t realize the folly of putting all their efforts into one scenario that might never happen.
My, he’s an interesting man.
Mine too, I am so excited about my garden. I have several delphiniums, but a bunch of more great stuff.
That same map looks a little better for us in 2008, because a lot of the green states have more votes, and the blue ones have fewer.
I miss the days when they changed the colors on the map every time, and when the colors were for incumbent and challenger.
I really hate being stuck with the color “red”. Blue is cooler, but I’d really like to have had either Orange or Purple.
Yeah, the media sure ingrained red/blue during the 2000 election. Quite annoying, but it’s a sound bite.
Kerry won because of his veteran status, but he was a flaming liberal. Bill Richardson is not. That's not to say he won't get the nomination, but his chanches are very slim.
Richardson might be compared to Joe Lieberman in that poll and look what happened to the latter.
He was diagnosed with prostate cancer and dropped out.
LOL...true words.
Are you catching up yet?
“Hey, why dont you just lock up the thread for the night, and open it in the morning? I think we could all use a break.”

How much more do they deserve our reverence and praise, whose lives are devoted to the formation of institutions, which, when they and their children are mingled in the common dust, may continue to cherish the principles and the practice of liberty in perpetual freshness and vigour.
