“And some just flat out lie about them and his supporters (well anyone not willing to declare he is WORSE than the Devil actually.)”

Lies? You know that Rudy is just a cross dressing, gun grabbing, abortionist!

Sure. He’ll be tough on law and order.

Do you know he has illegally kept the records sealed from when he was mayor? He broke state law by providing illegals with welfare. He used public money to pay 6 $100K+ a year bodyguards to drive his mistress to the beauty parlor.

Well, of the socialist variety, yes.

Oh, and maybe you should at least know the basics on a candidate before you try to disparage him. Ever hear of Watergate? Fred Thompson was on the Republican Watergate team.

I understand the situation. And to some extent I am even sympathetic.

It is certainly JimRob’s right to point his site in an anti-Giuliani direction, if he so chooses.

Though, like in 1999, it is a helluva kick in the ass to those who have contributed their hard work and time and money to build up a site that they didn’t realize would be wielded as a personal political tool by the owner.

There is also some irony in JimRob’s pledge to “Swift Boat” Giuliani. Especially since the person who supplied most of the “Swift Boating” of Kerry here at FR (my own humble self) was soon banned by him after my work was co-opted by others here.

Because I do not see Americans willing to be bent over from sun up to sun down willing to pick strawberries and lettuce. I just don’t.

The percentage of illegal immigrants working in the domestic agriculture industry is 2%. The percentage of illegal immigrants receiving welfare benefits is 41%.

“Additionally, this is the first time that I’ve heard that it was “debunked” - let along “countless times”.”

Then you haven’t been paying attention.

I got it for only $15. I'm beginning to think that's not such a good strategy.

Think of it as an investment in your education... /grinnin', duckin' and runnin'

But, I have been. So, give me some links or something.

Because I do not see Americans willing to be bent over from sun up to sun down willing to pick strawberries and lettuce.

We used to, before the wages dropped to third world levels.

Do you still see Americans driving tractor/trailers for a living? Those wages are dropping, thanks to the influx of border crashers who are willing to drive for third world wages. If the trend continues, you'll be saying the same things about truck drivers that you now say about farm workers.

When will it be enough? When they come for your job?

“Because I do not see Americans willing to be bent over from sun up to sun down willing to pick strawberries and lettuce. I just don’t.”

What about construction jobs. Truck driving jobs. Manufacturing jobs. Meat packing jobs.

What about THOSE jobs?

Those jobs that illegals are being paid pennies for because the cheapskate jackasses who own those companies won’t pay Americans normal wages for?

This is happening all over this country.

It’s not about berry picking anymore, it’s about ALL jobs.

It’s also not “just” about jobs anymore, it’s about the security of this Nation. So long as that border remains a leaking sieve this country is at risk.

Anyone can claim to be in favor of the WOT. Closing those borders down tight as a drum would be the first indication I have seen that they were bloody serious about it.

“they didn’t realize would be wielded as a personal political tool by the owner.”

Then the didn’t read this when they signed up.

“Statement by the founder of Free Republic:
In our continuing fight for freedom, for America and our constitution and against totalitarianism, socialism, tyranny, terrorism, etc., Free Republic stands firmly on the side of right, i.e., the conservative side. Believing that the best defense is a strong offense, we (myself and those whom I’m trying to attract to FR) support the strategy of taking the fight to the enemy as opposed to allowing the enemy the luxury of conducting their attacks on us at home on their terms and on their schedule...continued..”

It’s been stated since day 1 that this website was a POLITICAL site to fight liberalism...

There was nothing hidden about it.

I tried to give the thread a shrubbery a few thousand posts back, but it didn't help.

You forgot to include the herring and a few Freepers who say "neep"...

I’d say ‘complete meltdown’ sums it up pretty well.

Whatever "meltdown" took place here began when a small group of posters orchestrated a campaign to browbeat the rest of us into supporting a completely unaccepable candidate. Like their candidate, they told us the issues we care about most are the divisive concerns of a tiny minority, so we should just "Get over it!" and jump on the bandwagon with them. I've heard all of that before, many times, but I have never, ever heard it on this website, and I joined in '98.

Money well spent. Now I know better than to blindly agree to unspecified terms. I won’t offer my vote to the RNC, to spend on whatever candidate they choose.

FReepers ~ learn from my mistake! Don’t throw your vote into the wind.
