Are you seriously saying Rudy is not proabortion?
or that all his other liberal positions from his own mouth are not the case?
If so, he could settle the record right now, and would get a lot more support on the conservative side (if he could convince folks he was truthful, which might be a tad hard at this point)
Let me just say I’m not holding my breath
Even if he proved to be the greatest president in history in some people’s sight, I could not support someone who stood diametrically for all the things I abhor. Sorry, my principles are not for sale at any price
What? No Blinking Font?
FINALLY. Someone who gets it...
Because, I remember what a great asset you once were to conservatism, and wish nothing for you but a return to that former glory.
I’ve followed the thread from the start. Peach was equalizing everything Mayor Giuliani has said about abortion to a bill signed by Reagan in the 1960s.
Another guy went on about how Vice President Cheney was drunk when he shot that guy.
Almost everyone else that was banned seemed to ask (literally asked) to be banned.
I imagine a lot of them thought they were bigger than Free Republic simply because they had been here a long time. They became upset when they learned it wasn’t true.
On a previous thread he also didn’t think rudy was a “gun grabber”, despite all the quotes I provided to show rudy has called for massive gun control on every level.
to mkjessup: “Little gnat, you are no conservative. You’re just a small fry with a grudge.
LOL. Cicero you are a liberal bullseye that the owner keeps around for an unspecified period of time.
I fold....
More like a bullbiscuit.
Yeah. 6 1/2 years and counting...
” Giuliani could be a good conservative President.”
How many abortions will he endorse during his term?
The man things Ginsberg is a strict constructionist and well qualified.
And there is no War on Terror if we abort ourselves into extinction.
It's a big world, with all sorts of folks who have all sorts of ideas.
Certainly a person can be both a social and a political conservative.
But there are a large number of us 'contract with America' voters who are socially liberal, politically conservative.
We *used* to be welcome here. When we agreed on political issues, we worked together. When we disagreed on social issues, we debated.
That balance seems to be a thing of the past. Now, if I'm not a 'social C', i'm a blankety-blank-blank liberal.
I guess that's just the new way of things.
Uhhh, you haven't even been on FR for 6 months yet. Who are you to proclaim such a thing?
Caption Hellen: “Heeeheeee! He’s so drunk he doesn’t know just how ugly I really am..”
As far as being able to "see things as they really are" I believe that the overall attitude of the site is that we are a self governing nation...we set our own destiny.
Jim is trying to do that with his site.
Is he blunt and lacking in finesse? Sure. You can't impeach a Clinton if you want to rely upon finesse.
One of them was on a Rudy thread, defending Giuliani and calling Clinton a serial adulterer. Apparently a bit weak on the concept of irony.
“It is possible, in a few years, that folks here on FR will have a very, very different perception of Rudy. It might even be that every single prediction of gloom and doom turns out to be 100% wrong.”
Rudy has on record 30 years of liberalism. Why would he change? He said himself that his opinions will not change.
Rudy is a liberal PERIOD!
We keep hearing that Rudy is tough on terror but exactly what in the hell has he done? I know he left NYC vulnerable before and after 911. I want to know...HOW IS RUDY GIULIANI TOUGH ON TERROR?
