What you describe is much like a game we played in Girl Scouts. Sitting in a circle, the ‘starter’ is given a sentence on a scrap of paper and whispers it to the person on her right, and so on, through the circle. The last person says the sentence out loud. It’s never even close to what’s on the paper!

I LOVED Girl Scouts. I went from Brownie to Senior Scout
in the 9th and 10th grade.

That game was called The Telephone Game, wasn’t it? The
sad little secret is that it was used as a device to keep us quiet
while the leaders took a break. LOL!

I loved campfire songs. Do you remember the one about the Titanic?

Oh it was sad. It was sad
It was sad when the great ship went down
(to the bottom of the)
Husbands and wifes, little children lost their lives
It was sad when the great ship went down.
