Quote of the Day:
President Bush: The nature of a strategy aimed at securing the population is that the most important gains are often the least dramatic. Day by day, block by block, Iraqi and American forces are making incremental gains in Baghdad. Thanks to more troops on the streets and more cooperation from residents, the average number of weapons stockpiles seized each week has jumped 50 percent since the beginning of the new strategy.
American and Iraqi forces tracked down and captured the leaders of a major car bomb ring.
We found and cleared a warehouse where terrorists were storing chemicals to make weapons.
We captured members of a death squad that had terrorized hundreds of residents in a Baghdad neighborhood. As a result, displaced families are beginning to return home. And the number of sectarian murders in Baghdad has dropped by half since the operation began.

Hi.
I was just about to start doing some more genealogy stuff. I have hit a gold mine of information and I want to use that info to add to my family tree.
President Bush: It has now been 74 days since I sent to Congress a request for emergency funding that our troops urgently need. The leadership in Congress have spent those 74 days trying to substitute their judgment for the judgment of our generals -- without sending me legislation. And now, to cover ongoing Army operations, the Pentagon is being forced to transfer money from military personnel accounts. The delay in spending is beginning to affect the ability of the Pentagon to fund our troops and all our missions. On Wednesday, I met at the White House with Congressional leaders from both I urged the people around the table to put politics aside, and to send a bill that funds our troops without arbitrary deadlines, without wasteful spending, and without handcuffing our commanders.
There is ample time to debate this war.
We need to get the troops the money.

"Yesterday, Sen. Reid said the war 'is lost.' Today, Sen. Reid has tried to back off from that egregious comment using smoke and mirrors. It's impossible to figure out where the Democrats stand and there's no telling what Sen. Reid will say tomorrow."
White House Deputy Press Secretary Dana Perino, 4/20/07
Hi jonny .. thank you for your wonderful efforts here. TGIF!

President Bush: Our family, like many families, has been touched by this issue. Laura's mom, my mother-in-law, Jenna Welch, was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 78. She is a fortunate person -- she had surgery, and nine years later she is a cancer survivor, and we are thankful for that. As a result of her mom's battle with cancer, Laura has devoted a lot of time and energy to raising awareness about breast cancer through efforts like the pink ribbon campaign. She managed to get me to wear pink. (Laughter.) I appreciate Laura's good work, and I thank your good work, as well; thank you for joining usI appreciate you all joining us to witness the bill signing ceremony. And it's now my honor to sign the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program Reauthorization Act. (Applause)

Bush shakes hands with Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.), sponsor of H.R. 1132, the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program Reauthorization Act, after signing the bill Friday, April 20, 2007 in the Roosevelt Room of the White House. With them are, from right: Mrs. Laura Bush, Secretary Michael Leavitt of the Department of Health and Human Services, Wisconsin Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin, sponsor of the bill, and North Carolina Congresswoman Sue Myrick, co-sponsor of the bill.
Dood evening, Jonny! Thank you for the Dose.
Forgot to say something. I subscribe to Ancestry.com and they have a feature which you click on to see if there are any famous relatives. Well, for weeks, I had been clicking on that and seeing what names came up. I just thought, “oh, that’s nice” and went back to what I was doing. Then it hit me. Those famous relatives had to have someone who did the research and that would help me. Duh. Sometimes I think my brain is on vacation. I have some famous relatives, Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, President Taylor who is the brother of my direct ancestor, Mrs. Eisenhower, etc. I love history and this is making it come alive for me. I have over 17,000 names, now.
BTTT!! Great pic of President Bush saluting! I love it!
LOL — let me try that again.
GOOD EVENING, Jonny.
Dood! ;)
I did not care about that. I just wanted to see what pictures were posted and to let everyone know about my genealogy “stuff”.

I am so tired...lol.

Deputy Press Secretary Dana Perino: I think you'll notice that today the President has been also swept up by the school spirit and support for Virginia Tech. As you may know, the school encourages everyone to wear their school colors today, and he has a maroon and orange tie on. that was just a small way to continue to show his support.
I am not tired but I am tired of being sick. It seems like this has been the worse year for my allergies. My throat is extremely sore, my glands are swollen, my head hurts, and I just feel yucky.
