Another win for special interests. It's not about what is good for the Texas or the people of Texas but about "Hey you. Listen to me!

And the special interest groups are:

1. Unions - We can do it for twice the money and twice the time

2. Subsidized farm land owners - Don't mess with my (inherited) gold mine

3. Immigration-phobia - Like, it can't be any easier to get in already

4. Bash Republicans - It's not the hair stupid

Notice how some toll road projects have been exempted. I'll be alright but the biggest losers are the people from San Antonio to Dallas along the I35 corridor. I appreciate and frequent the toll roads around Houston and support user pay. This opens the door for the state to add 1% to the sales tax for roads just like Houston Metro did. Another bureaucratic boondoggle, I might add.
