Of course. Conservatism has always been about life. How we view life has always been the thing that distinguishes conservatism from it’s antithesis, socialism.
Do we view each person as unique, and do we think it necessary to preserve each human being’s right to exist in God’s image? Or do we view a person as imminently replaceable; as an unimportant cog in a larger machine. A cog that can be created or terminated as convenience dictates? That’s really the nut of what we’re talking about when we’re talking about conservatism versus socialism: whether individual human beings actually matter.
Well said!
