As I’ve stated in the past, the rights codified in the phrase “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” are not an arbitrary sequence. There is a definite hierarchy. The pursuit of happiness is only possible where liberty is present, and liberty is a meaningless concept unless life exists.

Life is the first and most fundamental right. Someone else’s pursuit of happiness (such as getting an abortion for one’s “mental health”) must defer to it.

If it’s true that a belief in God is the defining characteristic of Conservatism, and I not saying it’s not, don’t get me wrong, then, why in a the U.S., our country where around 85% to 95% of everyone believes in both Heaven and God, then, why is it our national elections are so nearly, evenly, split between the liberal and Conservative sides of the scale, and the “true” Conservatives don’t easily dominate the opposition?

Because Satan is a very good liar.

If we are ever to reverse the killing of our unborn in this nation, it will be through education. I am living proof that knowing the truth can truly set one free.

Our education should be focused on exposing abortion for what it is: the killing of an innocent. So, I invite you to pray for a culture of life in America, as opposed to the ever-popular culture of death. But more importantly, we must live our pro-life convictions.

No, at this point in time, they are meaningless and a giant waste of bandwidth.

you don’t have to ignore them. how about just putting them in the perspective to which they are entitled, that is, polls taken at a point in time well before the primary season has even begun in earnest and at which point NORMAL PEOPLE, who are not political junkies, have not given a single thought yet to for whom they will vote in the primary. rudy is topping the polls a year out when rank and file voters are not thinking about this. you might consider that, is all.

I don’t know if you are going to be zotted or not. My post was humor, based on the fact that you posted “Nice rant. Are you telling me to ignore the polls?” to the owner of this site.

Yeah, well I thought it was an honest question. He was aiming squarely at Rudy supporters (which I’m not) but I wanted to get beyond the "pep rally" to some speculation about what it is about Rudy that is the big draw and how the GOP might come to some sort of consensus on someone who can beat the donks.

Interesting we didn't reach that conclusion 10 or 12 years ago here.

You might as well be asking us to deny God. To deny the Creator that gave us life and liberty. To give up our children. To surrender our country to the left. To give up our freedom. To give up our faith and our belief in God's Word.

Yeah, but they only want us to compromise our moral principles until we put a RINO in the White House!

Then things will magically fix themselves!(sarcasm)

Good point. However I remember last October when people told me the polls didn’t mean anything and I found out they really did mean something. Yes, when I see polls that aren’t even likely voters I have my doubts but I thoiught there were some polls of likely GOP voters that had me concerned.

some speculation about what it is about Rudy that is the big draw

The media is forcing him down our throats like they did McCain in 2000. We even got much of the same mantra -- he's the only one who can appeal to the moderates and beat Gore, doncha know? See how well that was a predictor of the eventual nominee?

Thanks for posting this.

Any chance of adding Rudy’s pic, with the caption “Want THIS as your next President?” to the current, or next, fundraising drive?

well there is a big diff between polls taken in Oct for a Nov election and polls taken THIS far out, when at the least the people i talk to on a daily basis are NOT focusing on this. FR has always been poll averse, and most here are naturally skeptical. it is pretty comical to see all of the touting of polls on rudy stuff, actually.

Women and girls are still subject to the old double standard - only now, we're expected to "take care of it," and not inconvenience anyone else.

The girls and women who undergo abortion rarely feel that they have any "choice." As demonstrated by Guilani (or however it's spelled): The men who would protect them are abused, and the women who stand to warn them are ignored. (See the radical Austin Chronicle article praising the attacks on our pregnancy assistance centers at the Texas Legislature and my response to them, here.)
