Crime And Culture: When the Virginia Tech shooter's identity was first revealed, he came across as a tragic, almost sympathetic, figure the nerdy foreign student who couldn't fit in.
But the videos Cho Seung-Hui made of himself in paramilitary gear and launching into hateful rants show he was really an arrogant and narcissistic bully who didn't want to fit in.
We learned at the same time that he was not only stalking coeds on campus, but also taking up-skirt shots of them under desks with his cell phone camera during his English classes. The shy loner really was a perverted jerk.

So why did they all tolerate his abusive behavior for so long? ... Was it because he was a minority? Yes.

So where were the feminists screaming about his crimes against these female students? Sounds like terrible sexual harassment. I guess if he had been a lacrosse player or a privileged class guy he would have been expelled, or charged with some crime.

He so intimidated one instructor that she reportedly gave him A's rather than risk his wrath. What else could she do?

Virginia Tech gunman Cho Seung-Hui is shown in this screen image of a photo he sent to NBC before he went on his shooting rampage Monday.
Militantly so. Cho was so menacing that eventually 90% of his classmates stopped showing up to class just to avoid him. He so intimidated one instructor that she reportedly gave him A's rather than risk his wrath.
Cho called his alleged campus tormentors "brats." Well, it took one to know one. By all accounts, he was a 23-year-old enfant terrible who for years annoyed, disturbed or frightened everyone with which he came in contact from roommates and classmates to professors and deans and to even psychiatrists
First article to characterize him correctly, IMO.

VT knew he was a psychopath. PC was (and will be) the death of all.
Nikki Giovanni
BLACKSBURG, Virginia (CNN) -- As tales of Cho Seung-Hui's worrisome behavior continued to surface Wednesday, a renowned poet and author
who taught the 23-year-old suspected gunman called the notion that he was troubled "crap" and said he was downright "mean."
Nikki Giovanni was in San Francisco, California, getting ready to fly home to Blacksburg
when she heard the news Monday that 32 students were killed in separate shooting incidents on the Virginia Tech campus.
"I knew when it happened that that's probably who it was," Giovanni said, referring to her former pupil. "I would have been shocked if it wasn't."
Though Giovanni, another professor, Cho's former roommates and a classmate all recall Cho behaving in a disturbing manner --
and authorities confirm he was investigated after being accused of stalking a woman -- there was nothing criminal about his demeanor.>
Lucinda Roy
A professor warned authorities about Virginia Tech mass murderer Cho Seung-Hui
after the student turned in violent creative writing pieces and exhibited troubling behavior,
but she was told intervention would require overcoming too many legal hurdles.
Officials today identified the 23-year-old South Korean student as the killer of up to 32 people at the Virginia school, the deadliest shooting rampage in U.S. history.
Lucinda Roy, who taught Cho in a poetry class in fall of 2005, told ABC News she later worked with him one-on-one after becoming concerned about his behavior and themes in his writings.
Roy, co-director of the creative writing program at Virginia Tech, said she asked Cho to go to counseling, but he never went.
She said while she found nothing explicit in Cho's writings, threats were there under the surface.
Roy also said she was concerned for her safety when she met with Cho.
She told ABC the student seemed "extraordinarily lonely the loneliest person I have ever met in my life."
He wore sunglasses indoors with a cap pulled low over his eyes, whispered, took 20 seconds to answer questions and took cellphone pictures of her in class, Roy said.
Cho wrote a play called "Richard McBeef" in which he describes a 13-year-old boy who accuses his stepfather of pedophilia. The story ends with the boy's death.
Another piece, called "Mr. Brownstone," has three high-school students facing an abusive teacher.
"I wanna kill him," says one character.
"I wanna watch him bleed like the way he made us kids bleed," says another.

We all know that being PC, up-to-date, 'in the groove with what's happenin', talking the latest talk, wearing the in fashion, etc., etc., is far more important to enjoying a 'happy' life than using common sense and courage with moral conviction to do the right things.
There are those who think the deceased victims acted correctly....that is don't fight back. I realize some had no choice.
I wonder what the MSM tone would be if the murderer had been a white Southern redneck that snapped mentally?

"but also taking up-skirt shots of them under desks with his cell phone camera during his English classes." HE would NOT have LASTED if it had been ME.....I had a similar thing happen in the Seattle library when I was 17 (years ago) - an old pervert basically got on the floor and looked up my skirt while I was looking for a book......I SCREAMED at him.....and the library people were on him in a minute.....my girl friend was mad at me for making a scene. I was like....DID YOU SEE WHAT HE WAS DOING? In this day in age, I probably would have kicked him in the you know what after class......and been on his "list," too....

This is the best summary of the whole thing.
Everybody gave him a pass because he was a minority.
Had he been some white redneck from rural Virginia, and done a fraction of what this guy did over the years, he would have been ground up into little pieces by the high schools, VT, the cops, society at large.
Crybaby minorities get away with everything.
Nobody dares do anything or say anything.
This case may change that.

I honestly don't think so. Koreans are not really a protected minority. They are too hard-working, and capitalistic and they fought back with firearms during the LA riots. Probably not very attractive to the PC crowd.

Much has been made of Nikki Giovanni’s “fear” for her personal safety when personally mentoring her student, “Cho”. This fear could not have come from his writings, however. His writings were very much in the style and content of his mentor. The verbiage of her poem, “The True Import of The Present Dialogue, Black vs. Negro (For Peppe, Who will Ultimately Judge Our Efforts)” would probably not permit it to be printed on this website. I urge everyone, however, to follow the URL below (bottom of the page) containing copy of Nikki’s “poem” to see how closely Mr. Cho followed the style and content of his teacher’s racist rantings. Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Laura Ingraham, please pick up this ball and run with it!

It seems his "issues" go way back and were not handled properly in high school either. Yesterday on FOX (O'Reilly's show), a former high school classmate of Cho's said that Cho had written a "hit list" of people he wanted to kill at the high school. The kid said that Cho was suspended for approximately one month, but was unaware of any other treatment or consequences.
I couldn't find the story on BOR's website, but I did find this article below that mentions the hit list. However this describes a hit list in middle school. So I am not sure whether he had two hit lists or the stories have merged. In any event, he had serious "issues" for a long time that were never properly addressed.
Cho hit list story.
