Calling your daughter a "pig" is never justified -- not in that context anyway. (I can see it if he were lecturing her on a messy room.) If he has problems with his ex and/or her failure to see to it that the daughter takes his call, he should take it up with the ex --- not berate an 11-year-old like that. Maybe the daughter doesn't want to be around him because he is routinely abusive. I don't really know. I do know that he is the adult.
... but when you have an ex poisoning your own children against you and you have little to no access to them, you aren’t going to be a “NICE GUY” no matter who you are. Oh yeah, I understand the best way to dissuade your daughter for the alleged "poison" against you is to curse her out! I agree that Bassinger was out of line if she leaked this, but spare us the poor, misunderstood divorced dad excuse.

I’ve been around enough divorces, this guy was set up by a bitter ex.... Kids been used as a pawn in her parents Drama play... pretty standard play.. and the mother released something she never should have... and I guarantee you she’s no saint either... I’d bet dollars to doughnuts this girls been having to hear her mother badmouth her father in far worse language to her face for years.
Sorry guys, divorces are ugly, and kids ALWAYS take the brunt from BOTH parents when they go this route..
Not defending Alec’s actions, but piling on him for political disagreements with him is naive and disengenuous.
This girl clearly is going to be messed up, but it won’t be completely her fathers fault... trust me on that one.
