Please don’t hijack this thread into a pro isolationist thread.

This thread is about pets.

No this thread is about the true realities of subjugating national sovereignty to unelected bodies and undermining the very foundations of traditiona trade policy.

This is exactly what you wind up with when you do this sort of nonsense.

And again, the idea that you must be for free trade or be an isolationist is preposterous on its face. Only a free trade kool aid drinker believes those are the only 2 options their are. Ignoring completely of course the trade policy of over 200+ years of this republic.

Free Trade is an abject scam, and this sort of thing is predictable and expected when you let others decide what you can and cannot do when it comes to letting in or out products to your nation.

There is a reason we have food safety laws in the US, and there is a reason CHINA doesn’t and there is a reason CHINA can ship its crap here without meeting them... and it falls flat on the face of “Free Trade”. And if we demand they meet our laws, WTO will tell us too bad, you must let it in.

WTO, NAFTA and GATT were 3 of the greatest affronts to national sovereignty that this nation has ever gotten involved with. IN less than 30 years its taken us from a nation of completely self sufficiency to a nation moving increasingly to complete dependence. Pets dying are just another warning sign the free traders will spin away.... when it your Grandma or child, and believe me it will be, its only a matter of time, you get back to me.
