Are my Perdue chickens from China?

...but there are "Chicken Jerky" treats from China. My dog loves them, but I call them "bird flu" treats, since they were almost certainly birds culled to stop the bird flu.

Yup. Spoiled rotten pets need servants.

I never had a dog, but there is one I would like to have if it was legal. CA coyotes are tan, big, strong and very fast, good looking dogs. One used to pass me by every morning for years when I worked on a certain radar site. I was between his morning water and a fat rabbit or two for breakfast on the hill. It just strolled right on by like it owned the place. No problem between us crossing paths. They don't attack anything taller than them for food. Did I smell bad?

I’m switching my dogs to The Honest Kitchen’s Embark. No grains.

Got it today but will have to switch them slowly. I cooked up a little ground turkey to add to it until they get used to it.

I’ve been feeding them the Natural Balance Gourmet Meatloaf. It doesn’t have grains in it either, but the way this recall is going it could show up on the list anyway for who knows what.

Talk about out-of-hand!

Your description of the "poor starving kitties" is a hoot! Aren't the little darlings endearing?!

Our girls are litter mates - one got the looks and the other got the brains. The smart one plays fetch (she taught US), opens pocket doors with her paws, and has broken into the kitchen cabinet to help herself to the kibble. She managed to open a can with a plastic snap-on lid, which really surprised us. Her sister just eats, sleeps, cuddles, preens, and leads the charge to the dinner bowl.

Late last night I saw that the recall is moving into corn gluten now. It's not being recalled in the US (yet), but has been implicated in pet deaths in South Africa. That's 3 grain products adulterated with melamine now - wheat gluten, rice protein powder, and corn gluten. There was never a better time to start preparing our own pet food - even if imperfectly.

Whos talking isolationism? That shows how utterly perverted your mind has been twisted by the free trading lies. You can have trade without this free trade nonsense.

China has issues because we can’t enforce crap on them, because they (like any other trading partner) now has open access... we decide their products are unsafe and stop importing them, they take us to some unelected body who says, YOU MUST LET THEM IN.... Just like Mexican Trucks who are substandard and will, if they are not already, plowing over americans on interstates.

Free trade is an abject SCAM and lie. And being opposed to free trade is not isolationism. Trade should always remain a bilateral agreement between 2 nations.... so that when you have a nation like China who imprissons its political enemies, executes dissenters, has no environmental laws, or even the most basic food safety or worker safety systems and they want access to a more developed market and nation with their products the more developed nation can make their access conditional on meeting ITS requirements for import, and with carrots and sticks lift up the lower nation to a higher place, which is better for both sides in the end.

What you have with WTO, NAFTA AND GATT is nothing more than abject scam and the absolute worst trade policies ever seen in the history of this republic.

Remind me how good it is when the next batch of rat poison winds up in some kids spaghettios.

No this thread is about the true realities of subjugating national sovereignty to unelected bodies and undermining the very foundations of traditiona trade policy.

This is exactly what you wind up with when you do this sort of nonsense.

And again, the idea that you must be for free trade or be an isolationist is preposterous on its face. Only a free trade kool aid drinker believes those are the only 2 options their are. Ignoring completely of course the trade policy of over 200+ years of this republic.

Free Trade is an abject scam, and this sort of thing is predictable and expected when you let others decide what you can and cannot do when it comes to letting in or out products to your nation.

There is a reason we have food safety laws in the US, and there is a reason CHINA doesn’t and there is a reason CHINA can ship its crap here without meeting them... and it falls flat on the face of “Free Trade”. And if we demand they meet our laws, WTO will tell us too bad, you must let it in.

WTO, NAFTA and GATT were 3 of the greatest affronts to national sovereignty that this nation has ever gotten involved with. IN less than 30 years its taken us from a nation of completely self sufficiency to a nation moving increasingly to complete dependence. Pets dying are just another warning sign the free traders will spin away.... when it your Grandma or child, and believe me it will be, its only a matter of time, you get back to me.

Again, keep your digusting isolationist lies to yourself.

As you can see, NO ONE is interested.

People see through you ... .

Hijack another thread where that is the topic. Then vomit your lies there.

I suspect that many animals; and not just as of recently; have been victims of 'whatever' from the ingredients sold to them from China. . . .which, it appears; are not inspected as well; once they arrive at their destination; and before they are blended into whatever brand of dog food.

Which brings up the obvious question: why aren't these companies testing their own ingredients? Probably a cost thing ... but the cost of failing to do so is obviously higher.

No doubt about it; and it is the 'pet owner'/consumer who pays; for now anyway. I hope this is a wake-up call; and surley to those whose companies reach into China for the ingredients they use. Amazing. . .or really not so. . .but not letting in inspector's speaks for itself. This is beyond a 'buyer beware' issue, for sure.

Just offering now; that chemical may have been added on purpose. . .to make it look like it had more protein. (Well, I was 'half' right; IF this is the case) Figured it wa done on purpose as a sort terroristic dry run; OR 'pet vendetta'.

Actually both thesis work; given the end results.

It’s possible ... I just know that now I will be more careful and starting to make more stuff for them.
