"If youve ever watched the impact tests with dummies - at 35 MPH its amazing how the bodies fly around a vehicle.. and something as simple as a pencil becomes a deadly projectile."
I've been a paramedic for quite a while. The deadliest unsecured projectile I've ever seen cause injuries in a motor vehicle collision was a 120-pound rottweiler sitting in the passenger seat when the Explorer was hit on the passenger side and rotated onto the driver's side. Not only did the rottie break some of its own bones, it broke the driver's upper arm and a few ribs. Plus, he was just a little bit displeased when we showed up.

I can imagine he was... you know it is amazing how people will buckle up and fail to secure their pets in the vehicle.
