Just seems condescending repeating everything a poster has said. Instead of just replying. And it takes up a lot of space.

It’s his way of quoting the post he’s replying to, not unlike when people italicize the quote. Relax.
Okay..., I didn’t include it in your post. I do it because it contains the immediate thing I’m responding to. It avoids having to require people to click back to the original comment and forward again to what was said. It keeps it all there in that one post. That’s the idea.
But, I’ve never said that others should do the same thing. That’s up to each person. As far as the space taken up — well, let’s say I’ve seen some mighty big pictures posted on this site that take up a lot of room...
