Rudy is the new straight talker. No doubt about it.
From the NY Post:
Giuliani made his sharpest case for moving beyond social issues this weekend in Iowa, telling The Des Moines Register, Our party is going to grow, and we are going to win in 2008 if we are a party characterized by what were for, not if were a party thats known for what were against.
Asked about abortion, he said, Our party has to get beyond issues like that.
The GOP and the modern conservative movement have always prided themselves on being the idea people.
Rudy wants to regain that and capture the nations imagination.
Good for him, but easier said than done.
Hes going to have a tough time convincing the social issues voters that he wont abandon their fight to overturn Roe v. Wade.
I guess well see if his tune is the same come January of next year.

The average GOP voter has no idea where Rudy stands on many issues.
But eventually they will.

Rudy needs to STFU or go toe to toe with Fred Dalton Thompson and Thompson can shut him the hell up.

The average GOP voter has no idea where Rudy stands on many issues. I'm starting to think even Rudy has no idea where he stands on many issues.

Asked about abortion, he said, Our party has to get beyond issues like that. If we really want to "grow" we need to get beyond even more issues like the Second Amendment, taxes, smaller government, the war on terror etc. Let's just tear up our platform entirely so we can "get beyond" all those nasty, messy "issues".

Rino Rudy is all over the map on abortion. I seriously doubt he knows where he stands.

What is this “Donklephant” source, Meg88? As for RUDE-e-e-e, he can go jump in the lake at Central Park along with Bloomberg, Shumer, Hildabeaste, Nadler and the rest of N.Y.’s collection of gun-grabbing-partial-abortion-backing kooks. I’ll take McCain anyday!

Looks like Rudy is going to tell primary voters that the war on terror issue trumps all.

And Pro-Life forms a part of the bedrock of the GOP, though moral relativism on the part of the RINO’s is trying ot erode it.
