Haven’t heard why Kennedy would have a change of heart on this issue. Any links where I can read up?

Kennedy has always been “on the fence.” There was a case years ago where he was ready to vote to overturn Roe, but he backed out.

I don't have any links, but my impression is that Kennedy was never really strongly pro-abortion. I have read that he is kind of wishy-washy and tended to be influenced by Sandra Day O'Connor.

Kennedy did not change his opinion. Previously he had written a very strongly worded dissent in a decision that caused the republicans to pass the partial birth ban.

The difference was O’Connor retired and was replaced by Alito, that was the change in vote from 5-4 then to 4-5 now (the latter number being in favor of the ban). Roberts for Rhenquest cancelled out.

Perhaps he's starting to realize that in the next life he's gonna be held accountable for his actions in this one.
