I am praying for retirement THIS YEAR for Stevens (87 is beyond retirement). Perhaps Bush WILL get atleast 1 more pick and the senate is so closely divided that I think he’ll get another one through, perhaps a stealth candidate like John Roberts.
I’d like to see President Bush get 4 more picks this year!
This decision is a perfect example of why we need a Republican President in 08. No matter what it takes we need to keep the Democrats from the throne. They will set back President Bush’s SCOTUS gains for decades.
Forget stealth candidate, give Schmucky, Biden, Kennedy and their smear crews Janice Rogers Brown. They want more women and color on the Court, right? Isn’t that what the most intellectual and moderate Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor was advocating? Wasn’t the moderate Ginsburg complaining that she was gender lonely recently?
