Elizabeth Hasselbeck of "The View" is co-hosting "Fox & Friends" This week. And today, when she goes to assume her co-hosting duties on "The View," Elizabeth Hasselbeck is going to have a few choice words for Rosie O'Donnell.
But we'll get to that later. If you recall, cutie Kiran Chetry was canned when the William Morris Agency tried to play hardball with the Fox News Channel. Chetry was axed in favor of Gretchen Carlson.
Fox has been trying to push Carlson (albeit unsuccessfully) ever since Kiran left. They've even tried moving a few other Fox babes into the role as they watched their ratings drop-off.
Don't feel too sorry for Chetry as second-place CNN gobbled up the former Fox beauty, and she's now going head-to-head vs. FOX as the new co-host of CNN's American Morning.
Fox has been making blunder after blunder regarding their once extremely popular morning show. First it was moving E.D. Hill to make room for Carlson and then it was Kiran Chetry.
However, FOX looks to have read the writing on the wall as Gretchen has mysteriously vanished. Allison Camerotta returned to the show last week after being out on maternity leave and after several obvious failed attempts to find a suitable replacement, FOX may have found their girl in Elizabeth Hasselbeck.
Now I don't claim to know anything about Elizabeth's contract but it would seem that she may be planning to jump ship. It's no secret that she's been unhappy in her role on "The View" and at times has been the other three liberal ladies' conservative punching bag......."

I agree that Fox has to have libs on, and that usually it makes the conservatives look good. The problem is if/when the Fox libs get involved in the news process, as the black weekend guy did---he was unbelievably annoying.
Second, I was on "Fox and Friends" last May with Kiran, and while I found Tiki Barber and Steve Doocy extremely likeable, Kiran was cold. She never had the same chemistry as ED, although I think they are both Dems.
Third, I like Lauren Green as the third person in the "booth." Allison is ok. Page is ok. Fox's main problem is not the people but the somewhat liberal spin on many issues they have adopted.
I knew Lauren was doing the religion stories, bit I know she would “fit”. I like Allyson, but I can’t put my finger on what annoys me about her. I like Page ok too, but I’m not sure I would watch her in that spot for too long. I just thought of another person. Janice Dean might work, but I don’t know her experience on covering hard news stories. They really need her for the weather, especially now that Chris is gone.
I really miss Steve, E.D. & Brian together. I really hope this was E.D.’s idea, because if it wasn’t—it was a BIG mistake!
Surely you jest. Chetry is one of THE most empty-headed on the boob tube today. And that puts her at the top of the heap of DUMB!
OMG have you seen Courtney Friel in that slot on weekends? she is an ATROCITY! she is gorgeous, no way around that, but she is as empty headed as they come and Greg Kelly has all he can do to keep his tongue in his mouth and not drool on her when sitting next to her. she needs to be put on the entertainment beat and kept out of those anchor chairs, she cannot articulate an unscripted thought!
Kiran is a rocket scientist compared to courtney friel!
That's a neat trick.
She is awful, isn’t she? Fox must have been desparate to hire her. Good grief.
And the whole reason she lost her job at FOX is exhibit A of Chetry's stupidity. Now all her pubilicity puts the blame on her agent, as if she had no hand in it. I don't have one ounce of sympathy for Kiren Chetry.
But heck I can't stand E.D. Hill either.
she was on some World Series of POKER thing prior to this gig, if i am not mistaken. so ok, she is a sex bomb, she can’t string a sentence together with an independent thought that makes sense! i have been horrified since they put her on, and i am not exaggerating about greg kelly lusting for her, am i? i am so tolerant of that show, compared to most people. i have always been able to watch it, even when julian etc. were on, but i cannot watch courtney friel. She is fine to talk about hollywood, but that is IT.
i don’t feel badly for her, i read the reports and i agree. she hired the agent, and obviously signed off on those proposals, so she has to be responsible for her fate. but i never minded watching her compared to this dimmest of bulbs that they have replaced her with. they are definitely scrounging and fumbling for what to do. Gretchen is not good in the AM slot and doesn’t have good chemistry with brian and steve.
It is quite embarrassing and painful to watch her. I don’t watch anymore either. FNC has ruined F&F completely.
Lot of negative opinions on here about Elizabeth. Personally, I like her and think she can handle her own if need be. On “The View”, it was originally supposed to be about friendly ladies sitting around drinking coffee and gossiping. Along comes Rosie and its not such a friendly place anymore. Elizabeth needs to move on and be part of a show where she can take the “bull by the horns” and I think she’s up for it. Not to mention that I think she’s very easy on the eyes!
i am glad to be able to vent this here, bc i hadn’t seen it discussed on FR and it is so egregious i couldn’t imagine that anyone thought she was ok! my husband thinks the entire show is stupid, so it wasn’t really useful to talk to him about it. as he walked through the room i would say, am i nuts or is this woman dumber than dirt??
Frankly, I'm so tired of the FNC standard for women to be good-looking dimbulbs that it's hard to have any good expectations anymore. Very few do I like.
The way to watch Courtney Friel is with the sound down.
I certainly bow to your experience. I wasn’t really speaking to personality issues, only to a sense that some would like to reduce or eliminate the liberal presence on Fox News. I strongly disagree with that strategy. I want liberals face to face with conservatives in a venue where analysis, not name-calling, is the mode in which the news is discussed.
I don’t watch enough Fox and Friends to have a valid opinion about it. What I do see of it is often silly, at least until actual issues are discussed in some depth (which does not occur very often).
When Paige started, i couldn’t stand her. i thought she was sharp featured and too stiff, but she has loosened up and she is one of my faves now. and i agree about Greg. i liked him better before he started anchoring.
if you are male, i suppose that would help! good grief though, does Greg Kelly know how ridiculous he looks with his tongue lolling out like that??
