And he said the tragedy in Blacksburg, Va., could have been prevented if the school allowed students and professors to carry concealed weapons on campus. So true.

Despite his pro-gun rhetoric, Paul also often finds himself voting with Democrats, particularly in the area of civil liberties. He was one of only three Republican lawmakers to vote against the USA Patriot Act in 2001. He expressed concern that the Virginia Tech shootings would be exploited to crack down on civil liberties. Since when do the democrats care about gun rights as a civil liberty?

They don’t and never have. Liberty is not part of the socialist agenda — and they live in paranoia of the Second Amendment for the sole reason it was included in the Bill of RIghts. Screw the libs — they are tyrants, not patriots.

Sorry, I know this is off topic but since I haven’t figured out how to launch my own topics I will put this in topics that are closely related.
It appears that certain leftists are launching a hate campaign against the gun store that sold the firearm used, and are encouraging people to tell the owner “what they think of his sale”.

This guy could probably use some support too, in the face of the hate campaign that is sure to head his way.

Agree 100%. This stance is borne out morally, empirically and mathematically (the latter through game theory). The only stumbling block is emotional, telling you a lot about the people who see in these tragedies the “meed” for more gun control.

I wish Ron Paul had a chance. I admire his defense of the Constitution. Only one within the beltway that has even read the document.

Ron Paul, as always bravely stands up for his principles... How many other politicians have the guts to publically state this?? Just one, as always. So many people bash Ron for his unpopular principled stances, but few admit that he is the ONLY politician in Washington that stands up for our national values in the good and bad. God Bless Ron Paul.

A lot of things would prevent such a massacre. Self-defense training, awareness training, concealed carry. That kid wouldn’t have been able to shoot up a room full of blackbelts or bubbas.

I don’t know how accurate this is.... but I heard from a reliable source that Bill O’Reilly called for gun registration on his show before. Can anyone verify?

“Since when do the democrats care about gun rights as a civil liberty?”
Depends on the Democrat. I’ve cared about gun rights as a civil liberties issue for many years now. Note the site handle.
While I’m philosophically conservative, there are a few honest ultra-liberal Democrats who have come to the conclusion that the Second Amendment means exactly what it says. Not many, but a notable few. Laurence Tribe comes to mind.
Of course Liberty has never been part of the socialist agenda. Never has been, never will be.
