Please join us in prayer for our President, our troops and our nation, and especially for the families of those who have lost their lives at Virginia Tech, and for the entire community there.

“. . . we thank You for a President who not only leads with courage, but leads with a heart that is softened by the presence of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for the comfort that he is able to give through Your power and Your love to people who are in such great pain at this hour. We ask that You would lift him up and carry him through the many challenges that he has faced and will face in leading this country.”

Joining you in prayer.

They say that into every life some rain must fall
For the pain is no respector of the mighty or the small
But sometimes it just seems so unfair
To see one who's had more than his share
Oh it makes you wonder why

And Lord I wouldn't second guess Your mighty plan
For I know You have a purpose that's beyond the scope of man
If You look inside my heart You will find
That I have always been the trusting kind
Oh but still I wonder

Why do the rainy days have to come
When the storm clouds hide the sun
I want to know why
Why when the reasons aren't clear to me
When it all is a mystery
I want to know why
And though down here I may not understand
I won't let go of the unseen hand
For It holds the reasons why

The Lord has never been afraid of honest prayers
And He won't allow the burden to be more than you can bear
When He knows that your trust is in Him
He doesn't mind the questions now and then
Even if you wonder

Why do the rainy days have to come
When the storm clouds hide the sun
I want to know why
Why when the reasons aren't clear to me
When it all is a mystery
I want to know why
And though down here I may not understand
I won't let go of the unseen hand
For It holds the reasons why

First and foremost, I thank our Lord for answered prayer in my life.

Dear Lord, there are so many who need our prayers today. We ask special blessings for the community of those injured yesterday at Virginia Tech.. You know who they are and You know their hearts. God bless this community.

For all of those injured, we pray for their medical caregivers. Give them wisdom to comprehend what needs to be done for each of them. God bless their families who stand vigil for them.

We continue to pray for President Bush and his family, his administration and their families, and for our brave men and women in our military. We pray for their safety and special blessings for their families. God bless our nation.

Dear Lord, bless all who pray with us. God bless them all.
