One thing about the killer’s personality - we know from this he was a very, very selfish individual. It was all about him and no one else mattered. She was probably the only girlfriend he ever had because he was such a loner/loser.
No way in hell this was his girlfriend, just the object of his obsession, she was unlucky enough to be his neighbor, any pretty neighbor would have been the object of his fantasies, she got the unlucky room.

Where are you getting your information on the killer’s personslity? Or is everyone embroidering on the word, “loner”? Why is everyone convinced that he had anything to do with the Miller girl, and what actual evidence do they have? Sounds to me like FR is writing the story purely based on past cases. I am inclined to think, until proven otherwise, that Cho was a baby muslim, who gave it all for Allah.
