Clinton out-raised but still sits atop largest war chest

Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-New York, has raised less money so far in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination than her chief opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, but she still sits atop the largest cash reserves of any White House hopeful, according to campaign finance reports filed Sunday.

Clinton raised $19 million from contributors in the first three months of the year specifically for her nomination bid, compared to $24.8 million for Obama, according to the reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Overall, the New York senator actually brought in a record amount for this point in a presidential race, $36 million.

In addition to funds the New York senator raised for the primary fight, Clinton also raised $7 million that is earmarked for the general election and can only be spent if she wins her party's nomination.

She also transferred an additional $10 million from her 2006 Senate re-election account, which, at the end of March, gave the former first lady the most available cash of any presidential candidate, Democratic or Republican, with $24 million in the bank that can be spent on her nomination bid.

Appropriate that the largest ass in the race has the largest war chest to sit on.

‘Tis a lovely platform, to be sure.

“I have money, and access to plenty more, vote for me.”

Probably the least cynical part of Herself’s campaign.

But typically, the actual expenditures will at times have little to do with expanding the voter base, or appealing directly to positive reasons for anyone to support Herself.

Negative campaigning works. Expect anyone who is a rival to Herself to be the subject of a considerable amount of “opposition research”, none of it of exculpatory nature. In fact, most of it will be vividly vindictive.

Someone needs to hire hundreds of PI’s to find all the Clintoon dirt. Investigate the numerous “dead” Clintoon associates. Hitlery as President spells more than just doom for our country. The American people will be nothing more than slaves in the Clintoon kingdom.

Bill Clinton’s time in office revealed a lot of dirt (though, admittedly, it probably only scratched the surface) and he was able to stay two terms and Hillary, far from remaining clean through it all, was elected to the US Senate. Anyone who has an eighth of a brain and the desire to know can see that the Clintons are scum. The only question remaining is, will they care? New Yorkers didn’t, but they are hardly indicative of the rest of the country. In the end, I think that Barack Obama is actually more of a threat to win than Hillary, because I think that Hillary will knock herself out. She is about as unlikeable a politician as there is today and, while politics should not be a popularity contest, it is, in part. She will lose the nomination, IMHO, on the grounds that she comes across as a vicious old witch.

Mr. Dick Morris.com said Hilda’s first quarter money raising numbers include $10 mil transferred from her senate campaign (leftover funds) and that Obama Osama outraised her 2:1.
