I was going to say, he could have had a job in Hollywood.
It’s got to be him.
They look exactly alike, and how many other South Korean young men use the name “Ismail” and whose real names are identical to the shooter, Cho Seung-Hui?
Hes a South Korean. Ismail is not his real name. He use it because his name is very hard to pronounce, especially for Indonesian people. His real name is Cho Seung Hoo ....... or is it Jo Sung Ho?

Good grief. We have no idea what was going through this guy’s mind. For all we know he could have been inspired by John Edwards and all his “two Americas” talk. Why are people looking for an Islamist terrorist under every rock?
Someone had a bad day with his Playstation.
Sophomoric. Wouldn’t call it psychotic.
There’s a front face close shot in the slide show, I can’t link to it....
Frankly, if it’s him, he muscled up and got shorter me thinks....
I just heard on the news that the shooter’s fingerprints do not match those of any students.
Muscling up is something a person with long term mayhem plans would do.
SG says that play is "among" the writings that got him referred to counseling. No wonder.
OH?
Where did you hear that? That would imply they have fingerprints for all VA Tech students - which they don’t.
If it’s not him, it’s an incredible coincidence, basically the same name, nationality, approximate age, and the use of Ismail.
If he did make friends with some Indonesians who happened to be muslims, it might explain how he began to hear the teachings of Islam, if in fact it turns out Cho was influenced by Islam.
if he was an English major, just look up what classes he took recently and see what he had to read. You’ll find the allusion there (probably drilled into his head by some “impressive” and/or bloviating lit/crit/$hit lecture). And check out what he wrote papers on.
dat’s 2 much!
bit confused take on usa.
Last time I looked FR was where Free Speech and specualtion was allowed. Guess that rule is being changed eh by the Stalinists who only believe Groupthink is Correctspeach.
Pray for W and Va Tech
he wrote that play in
one
all nighter!
bettcha.
a moving work of art. si.
I heard it just a few minutes ago on CBN news - a report from 700 Club news. You often get news there that you get no where else. I wouldn’t know about fingerprinting all students - I am just reporting what I heard.
I write plays for a hobby, so I thought I’d take a look at what he did. Call it a sick fascination, but I was curious.
He knew how to format a play correctly, so he’s almost certainly taken a class.
He’s just beginning learning the craft. This is first-play stuff. The character of John is almost certainly based on himself. Beginning playwrights (especially young ones) nearly always have a character based on themselves.
The interesting thing for me is the portrayal of the mother Sue. Sue is trying to make excuses for John, and she’s treated as weak. That’s an unusual touch for a beginning writer. Usually, the alter-ego character gets no sympathy from anyone. He/she is the victim.
I’m not saying the play is any good, of course. Still, some theater somewhere will probably perform it now.
