VA Tech Attack A Premeditated Act Or Jealous Act Of Rage?
Strata-Sphere ^ | April 16th, 2007 | AJStrata

It seems the Massacre at VA Tech (where I went to school briefly) was premeditated. The reasons are clear in the latest reports. First off the man took a gun to confront his girlfriend, who was more than likely trying to get out of sufficating relationship (I have seen this pattern before, but with less violent results). When he did not get what he wanted and an RA came to deal with the commotion the man pulled his gun and killed the girlfriend and RA. This means the man planned the confrontation and brought the gun with him.

The second act was also premeditated since the man came with guns and clips and the ability to chain the doors (when I was there there were no chains even wrapped on the doors to close them). Finally there is reporting that the bomb threats in the prior weeks were tests of the response time of the authorities. Combined with the news the man was a 24 year old from China shows a combination of military training (not OUR military lefties) and planning.

What really worries me is if this was a test for other attacks. If the man was testing College responses then the key would be to make this look like anything BUT a terrorist attack. I am not making the claim here this was terrorist related, but the man did not seem to be looking for his girlfriend’s lover, he seemed to be out trying to kill anyone he ran across. A perfect diversion for a test run would be a lover’s quarrel. And ending it in a ’suicide’ negates the ability to get to the bottom of his motives. Of course violent jealousy is not uncommon, and more so in male dominated societies like those in Asia and the ME. In those places killing women is like throwing away property. But something is not right here. For someone who was in the emotional throws of jealousy, the attack shows signs of careful planning and cold execution. The two characteristics do not mix. Careful planning and cool execution implies a lot of self control and discipline, things which are in complete opposition to an out of control act of rage.

Update: It seems I am not the only one who thinks this was a well planned out massacre (H/T Flopping Aces):

Is there some sort of ‘I’m right, you’re wrong’ contest you feel you’re in? Speculation isn’t meant to be a contest ...

This guy’s kill rate was VERY good. He shot 60 people, total, and you know most of them were probably moving, with handguns. Its been said that he fired approximately 100 rounds. That’s a 60% hit rate, with an over 30% kill rate. I don’t think this was any rank, “crazy”, amateur.

That “lack of outrage” really concerned me as well. It says something very unsavory about our culture-—a culture of “victims”.

There’s quite a bit of speculation coming from The Reference Frame blog. It’s doubtful that he obtained training to be capable of what he did as a civilian in China. AFAIK, only soldiers are capable of doing what he did the way he did it.

But assumptions are broadcast to us, whenever possibly applicable, that murders resulted from domestic disputes. That’s been our policy for a couple of decades. An antagonistic regime would certainly use that cultural pathology of ours for other purposes.

Be interesting to see the head bashing ol’ Cool Hand Lu would have received at Quantico.

Beijing will obviously deny any connection.

lol.... you aren't being serious are you? Maybe it was aliens from another planet. I think you watch a little too much tv. No question he planned on killing a lot of innocent people. His first plan was to kill his ex-girlfriend and after that I guess he figured he had nothing to lose. He must have thought why not do something so sensational that it will be remembered through history. He was a young man that figured he lost everything and had nothing more to live for so why not kill as many people as possible. Not a muslim terrorist or some secret agent sent by Beijing to wipe out as many infidels as possible.

I am not buying Radford U. or Whoreraldo’s web page. Whoreraldo’s web page was a perfect example of disinformation. Everything fit the shooter to a T but the police said the man pictured was not the dead man. There are many tracks but whether they lead somewhere or not is the question. The Feds are working four scenarios which tells me there are lots of tracks but confirming the dead shooter with the tracks has not been done yet.

You said — “Um, the terrorist saying they are going to attack us, our schools, and their proven track record through out the world. That is why my speculation is better than yours.”

I’ve already posted on these threads about the terrorist threat towards schools and how the police departments are being informed and trained in what to do. A report was posted here on Free Republic, but it was demanded to be taken down by a police association website (where it came from). I posted the link to another site where the report could be read.

Therefore, I’m not unaware of the threat that exists. That being said — it doesn’t make every killing that ends up being associated with a school a terrorist plot or a threat that was carried out.

As I said — it’s all way too speculative; there are not enough facts to piece this all together (at least not for the public, anyway), and one speculation is as good as the next.

Mine fits just as well as yours can — when you have not facts to back up anything — on any scenario (at least not *enough* facts).

Now, tomorrow may turn to be another day and we may get deluged with meaningful facts. As of right now — we’re all shooting in the dark. That’s why one speculative idea is as good as the next — at this point in time.

Star Traveler

He certainly did, a damn good one at that! “Red Dawn” comes to mind as well. A whole bunch of folks could do with a marathon watching of both. (They probably wouldn’t understand what they were watching though.)

Nope. Just mean to make it abundantly clear to all readers that my ideas at this poit are speculative and so are everyone elses — so that no reader comes away with some idea that they *know the story* now.

It’s not known by anyone (publicly, at least) right now.... That’s the main point.

My bet, tomorrow his name will be Abdul Hussien Obamma or some twist of Koranic verse.

I’d say 60 wounded, over thirty fatally, might constitute more than a “walk through”.

My theory is that this guy was in fact girl crazy and killed her and the RA. The other killings were to get the other guy. Maybe he didn't know what he looked like but knew he was a XYZ engineering student.

The PLA probing theory sounds silly to me. He may be military, but I went to Georgia Tech. If you want to kill Asians go to the engineering building. If you want to kill Americans, go to the management buildings. I bet her bo was Asian and an engineering student.

My final random thought: if the shooter was a Radford student, he had no reason to be nutty over one girl. Radford (used to at least) had one of the best girl to guy ratios in the country. I spent a fun night at the Bus Stop on a road trip where the girls actually where the ones doing the chasing because there were so few men. It was like heaven on earth.
