followed by a week or so of investigation and funerals and a VT ceremony to honor the dead..
Then debate the actions that were taken and any action that is reasonable.

Then debate the actions that were taken and any action that is reasonable. You make a good point. I for one was responding to the comments of the president, which struck me as especially inappropriate. The president and the police chief should probably refrain from trying to justify their actions (or inaction) until more facts are available.

So, here's the question. Would you want your child to return to classes in a university that mishandled this massacre so badly?
If students and parents lose confidence in the administration of a university operation, it's over.
That's the problem.
I guarantee it ain't gonna be business as usual at Virginia Tech.
The killer of two individuals was still on campus two hours later and nobody seemed to be searching for the guy or doing much to warn about a killer being at large.
