Here is the data, if you want to see it. Between that, the fact that Allen, Santorum and Talent lost in critical states last year, and the polling that shows Giuliani the only R who can take the battleground states, I don't know what more you need. I seem to recall people were in the same state of denial prior to the 2006 fiasco. The polls are lying, the country is really conservative yada yada yada. At some point you have to look at the data objectively and make a good decision, because beyond finding a candidate who agrees with you, it is also important to field a winner.
