The reason that guns are being discussed is because according to the Philadelphia statistics, 85% of all deaths due to crimes were from guns and not from cars.
You are just simply ridiculous Are you a mother or wife? Grandmother? Or just an insane eunuch?
FBI 2005 crime statistics:
An estimated 16,692 persons were murdered nationwide in 2005, an increase of 3.4 percent from the 2004 figure.
Weapon use
In 2005, 24% of the incidents of violent crime, a weapon was present.
Offenders had or used a weapon in 48% of all robberies, compared with 22% of all aggravated assaults and 7% of all rapes/sexual assaults in 2005.
Homicides are most often committed with guns, especially handguns. In 2005, 55% of homicides were committed with handguns, 16% with other guns, 14% with knives, 5% with blunt objects, and 11% with other weapons.

Drunk driving is no accident.
There were 16,694 alcohol-related fatalities in 2004 39 percent of the total traffic fatalities for the year.
Every one of those was a result of a CRIME, too.
Right there, it drops the rate, assuming ALL murders were due to shooting, rather than the aforementioned 85%, down to 50%.

“Deaths due to crime" is NOT the same as “murders”.
It is terribly disingenuous to purposely omit a major class of fatal crimes, just to drive an anti-gun agenda.
