It depends on the gun. If it's a gang-banger AK47, then it has entered the country illegally (usually from China). Other handguns are stolen from shipments. M-16 and military weapons are completely illegal and usually stolen by unscrupulous military personnel or law enforcement and sold on the black market.

I really hope you understand. Restricting gun ownership accomplishes nothing. Police will not protect you, and your LIFE is a NATURAL RIGHT! I grew up in the 'hood. The criminals there don't care about the law, they just don't. M-16s, AK-47, mean nothing to them. They know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy with the "hook-up". What do you do about that?

As far as emotions, we're supposed to be adults. We all know it is morally wrong and illegal to kill someone out of anger no matter if you feel that way. It doesn't matter if a gun is used, or a kitchen butcher knife, of a rock, or an iron pot, or a just a human fist or foot. I don't believe the gun makes it "easier".

Somebody is misinformed about gun laws. Military weapons are not illegal- they can be purchased and legally owned by law abiding citizens with the appropriate tax payment and paperwork. Some restrictions do apply, but autofire weapons are not hard to find, just expensive.
