I've been running, lifting weights, and competing in track and field, did the decathlon for 12 years, and have competed in assorted fun runs for the last 30 plus years. I say weight training alone isn't going to cause you to lose weight.

I say it's a combination of weights, cardio, and diet that's going to do it for you. A diet with no exercise won't do squat. Your body gets used to getting no calories and tries to compensate, because it thinks it's starving.

Diets, by themselves never work and neither does occasional exercise without any change in your eating habits! If you have no motivation to get any exercise, chances are you'll never keep the weight off.

Rush is WRONG... You need some cardio!
