I saw a television interview with a student yesterday that described the police as having difficulty with the ground floor exterior doors of the building.
They used those battering ram tools to bust open the door...they closed it again.
They could not enter the 2nd floor where all the carnage was taking place because it was those interior hall doors to the staircase that were chained from the inside.
That's why some of the victims were shot in the stairwell...because they were trapped on the floor.
Good post! The student's eye-witness account totally contradicts the below information from the808bass, where police claim they broke through the chains "within one minute." I figured that was a steaming pile of BS. Your post only confirms it. Thanks.
