I think if you hit shot someone while he was wearing a vest it would still be enough to injure them so they would stop long enough to be held down or shot again. Just confronting these madmen may be enough to stop them.

I have been thinking since yesterday that these school shootings are cropping up more and more often as we as a nation move further away from God. There once was a time that a fear of retribution from God would give these people a second thought before going on a rampage. Now, more and more people have lost the fear of God. Our society is drifting towards chaos because we have lost our anchor.

The number of students shot in school has been steadily dropping, actually.

I have been thinking since yesterday that these school shootings are cropping up more and more often as we as a nation move further away from God. There once was a time that a fear of retribution from God would give these people a second thought before going on a rampage.

The worst school mass murder in the US happened when we were "much closer" to God, so to speak, many decades ago (1930s or 1940s).

The fact is, there are sick and mentally ill people in this world, and there have always been sick and mentally ill people. I know it makes it easier to accept if you can pin it on "moving further away from God", but I think in the end, you have to accept that there are people who are just screwed up in the world.

For every sicko nutcase like the murderer, we have men and women like one of his victims: Liviu Librescu: Liviu Librescu (circa.1932 – April 16, 2007) was Professor of Engineering Science and Mechanics at Virginia Tech and a Holocaust survivor. His major research fields were aeroelasticity and unsteady aerodynamics.

Librescu was murdered in the Virginia Tech massacre while holding off the gunman at his lecture hall entrance so his students could escape.

Librescu was among the 33 people killed in the Virginia Tech massacre on April 16, 2007. He was killed in the Norris Hall Engineering Building. He was 77 years old. According to Fox News reports, Librescu held the door of his classroom shut while the gunman was attempting to enter it, and was shot through the door, but was able to prevent the shooter from entering the classroom until his students had escaped through the windows

So don't despair - for every sick and evil person in the world, there will always be at least one good person such as Liviu Librescu.

No doubt about that.
