However much it scares you, 18-25 year olds are adults and should be accorded the same rights and respect as any adult.
This is not about “respecting” the rights of 18-25 year olds. It is about not turning our public places into very scary places.
Nobody has a right to carry a firearm in certain places, even here in Texas where concealed carry laws are pretty liberal. That includes schools and churches, and I like it that way.
There is a time and a place for everything, and arming college students is just a nutty idea.
Uhm, most of the people keeping you and I safe everynight (the military) are 18-25 year olds. Average age in WWII was around 18-19 I believe. Acting as if a 22 year old is a child is ridiculous and worse the low expectation signals 22 year olds that it is ok to act like one.
