That's nonsense, IMO.
A college campus the size of a small town at a time of the day when kids are too busy getting ready for school..why would anybody suspect anything more than a solitary shooting?
There were no suspects, no hostage situation...they didn't even know if it was murder suicide. We don't know if the shooter left a decoy weapon at the scene. There were no reports of anybody running away from the scene.
The college president took the position that it was better to get the kids into their classrooms and THEN lock them down...since it takes up to twenty minutes for some students to walk to their classrooms.
IMO, the college acted properly. Blame the shooter...for once.
The cops wishfully thought that he must have he left the state. He hadn't.
Lets hope this wasn't the case. In the the initial shooting/murder scene, there was no gun. Meaning who ever murdered them, was still on the loose with a gun.
Even if the whole campus had been placed in lockdown, what would have prevented the shooter from waiting a few days and they gone on a shooting spree? At this point I cannot fault the university for the way the reacted.
As for the gunman's demented writings - just read the stuff Senator Webb wrote and he got elected to the Senate.
