But with the globalist numbing, dumbing down of the whole culture and populace for 50-60 years . . . it takes some extra alertness to just survive average stupidity these days.

In the olden times, the idea used to be that civilization was only for the elite. The rest of society was the rabble and wasn't really considered part of civilization. Nowadays our culture revolves around the masses instead of an aristocracy. Dumbing down is sadly to be expected.
