My concern would be these students are largely irresponsible (in general; I’m not talking if they can handle a gun well when sober - and this is no matter what anyone here says to the contrary; I hold to my opinion). They may not have any intention of “mass murdering” in an instant in time, but their foolishness and carelessness - and self-centeredness - can lead to lots of general injuries/deaths. “how dare he look at me funny” - BANG Most of the folks defending your right to say what you just did are 18-25 years old. They not only carry handguns, they carry rifles, drive tanks with 120mm guns, fly planes with really big bombs attached and fire off big ass missiles....anyways you get the picture. I trust them to have good judgement. Most college kids are good people and deserve the right to defend themselves from the results of conservatives like me losing the philosophical battles of the 70's, 80's and 90's.
I trust kids...besides which being a kid 18 years old does not mean you give up your right to your life. I do not accept the liberal notion that more guns cause more crime.
Btw so far have used my weapon twice to prevent and stop crime. No one was shot...but it sure felt nice having it just in case anyone was aching to be shot.

I understand all that.

And I’ll say it again as I had some 3x already: we were all that age so please spare the “discrimination”-type arguments. I’ve lived that and I wasn’t proud of my generation as a whole, much less how it is now, which watching “March-Madness riots” on news only affirms. The stories are far too many.

Again, consider the right of the campus to determine what comes on its property. No 18yo is being denied a gun, they’re being denied carrying it on someone’s property. There is nothing wrong with that.

You can argue whether it’s smart for the campus to do so (I’m thinking it might be), but frankly, the campus pretty much has the right to say what goes on on its property.
