“I’m a much more conservative person,” said Riddle, attending with his 17-year-old daughter Madi. “I would give that up for a candidate who projects fiscal responsibility and good management.”

West Des Moines Republican Linda Robel, who supports Giuliani, said she was worried social issues would irreparably damage the party unity during the primary campaign. “I believe that because of the abortion issue in the Republican Party, it is dividing this party so badly that we may not be able to elect a Republican president,” said Robel, who attended Giuliani’s event at Noah’s Ark restaurant.

Rudy has his pulse on the American voter. Two strong issues for Republicans that the Democrats can't match.

There are mobs in the streets. Avoid crowds and above all avoid those who incite the crowds.

It isn't just about abortion Robel.

West Des Moines Republican Jim Riddle, who attended Giuliani’s event at the restaurant, said he could sacrifice his own more conservative social positions in order to support the former mayor in the caucuses.

As will many social conservatives who are more worried our country surviving the next attack and about feeding their own families.

giuliani Says GOP Must Focus On Terror, Taxes...

and NOT (he HOPES) on the VAST MAJORITY of his views, which are UNARGUABLY...

LIBERAL.

Talk about a "shell game". He's trying to hide the TRUTH about his left-wing track record.

Too bad for RINO-rudy, that we have LOADS of written and recorded documents, audio, video, and photos of his various and many LIBERAL positions and escapades.

Do you honestly believe that Rudy Guiliani is the man capable of uniting the Republican party?

Too bad you are one of the ones going to be left in the dust and looking at a Clinton White House again!

Yes he will unite the moderates with the social conservatives again whereas a social conservative candidate will divide and make us lose. The only true Social conservative in this contest is Duncan Hunter and where is he in the polling? Take a good look and see how well the social conservative is doing? I like Duncan Hunter but a social conservative will not win the White House.

Iowa elected Democrat Chet Culver over Republican Jim Nussle (Rudy's Iowa man) largely due to the Michael Fox propaganda hysteria.

Democrats use propaganda to attain power--and the nation be damned.

Previous Iowa Democrat Governor Tom Vilsack (Hillary's owned) tried to get the legislature to resolve to cut and run in Iraq.

Democrats are not for anything but power.

Nice try Rudy....but we have to focus on all aspects, terror is only one aspect. So far, you are unproven.....so...we have to take in the whole the picture.

We are far from single issue voters.

Can Rudy unite? No

Ask “America’s Mayor” what he thinks about how hard he fought to keep New York City a sanctuary city, in spite of federal anti-illegal immigration law.

Ask “America’s Mayor” why he called for national gun control after a Muslim from Egypt shot and murdered someone at the Empire State Building.

Ask “America’s Mayor” why he thinks abortion should be funded with taxpayer dollars for poor women.

Ask “America’s Mayor” why, if he’s so good at management, spending in New York City skyrocketed in the last half of his mayoral term.

Those are only four things...I could go on. And illegal immigration and gun control are far more than just “social” issues...they are Constitutional ones. The President is under oath to protect the U.S. from invasion...and the 2nd Amendment protects our right to keep and bear arms.

I don’t want someone who has actively fought against the Constitution to become President.

I couldn’t disagree more. Guiliani will get moderate conservatives and pick up a few independents/moderate liberals but it won’t be near enough to offset the losses he will sustain with core conservatives. Our only hope ia a man both fiscally and socially conservative enough to inspire the base but yet not so much so as to alienate the middle. That man I believe to be Fred Thompson.

I can go to Google News right now and pull up over ten times as many articles on Giuliani posted within the last hour than I can get for Duncan Hunter in the last three days.

That’s the problem; the media doesn’t talk about him because of lack of name recognition. Polls at this point are all about image and money...hardly an ideal way of picking a candidate.

Let’s see what happens when debates become televised.

True. Maybe Duncan Hunter will stand out more then. I totally agree. The debates will make or break the candidates.
