One redeeming quote from McCain that raised my estimate of him....a view that I never thought to have...was that he’d rather lose a campaign than a war.

IF he supported Bush tax-cuts, strict terrorist-interrogation & not standing up with dems on CFR, 9/11 commission joke, global warming, anti-swift boat vets, gang of 14 - he would be the de-facto republican candidate today.

McCain’s speech that he gave last week..and then again last night in Iowa...is a good speech.
I believe him on that statement...I really think that he is in a very small minority of people in Congress that really does see the danger of withdrawal for what it is.

Mccain looked really good when he talked about the Navy Seal that had been shot in the eye and Was at The Military Hospital (Landstuhl I think) in Germany when he visited him on his way back from Iraq. It was very poignant and Mccain teared up talking about how the Soldier asked him to come back and tried to get himself up Military stiff and salute and how hard and painful it was for him. I about lost it when he said the Seal told him “we can win this one”. This is even hard for me to type, no wonder Mccain was teary eyed.
