And today, just like in Viet Nam, people are joining the National Guard to avoid going to Iraq. Oops, there are a LOT of NG troops going to Iraq, just as a LOT of NG went to Viet Nam. But here some definitions of "draft dodger."

somebody avoiding military conscription: somebody who seeks to avoid being drafted for military service

draft dodger definition

someone who is drafted and illegally refuses to serve

definition of draft dodger

Someone who avoids conscription.

draft dodger

The term "draft dodger" cannot be applied to someone who served in the military.
